How it works

The entered interval is added as whole UTC calendar days to the supplied ISO date. One estimated date is returned without manufacturing a confidence window or weather correction.

Formula
estimated harvest = starting date + stated days to maturity
  • Both date and maturity days are required because varieties and suppliers define them differently.
  • The date is arithmetic planning output, not a ripeness guarantee.

Worked example

Carrots sown in spring
75 days to maturity from a 2026-04-01 sowing
Input
											Sowing date: 2026-04-01
Days to maturity: 75

Output
												Estimated harvest date: 2026-06-15

When to use this

Seed packets project from sowing, transplant labels project from planting, and succession schedules compare estimated harvest dates for repeated batches.

Edge cases

  • When a packet counts maturity from transplanting, enter the transplant date rather than the earlier indoor sowing date; the label’s starting event cannot be inferred.
  • Cool soil, heat, drought, pests, and cultivar performance can move real harvest timing, so no unsupported ±10% range is shown.
  • The interval means calendar days, not growing-degree days, workdays, or months approximated from weeks.
